Indigo Powder can be used in reasonable quantities to color your hair, based on your hair volume and thickness. Some people mix Indigo powder with Jet Black Henna powder to get lustrous, dark, and shiny hair.

  • Apply using the gloves provided or a silicon spatula.
  • You can also use a clean toothbrush to get at the roots/base of your hair.
  • Use the plastic wrap to prevent oxidation of the dye, once you apply it.
  • Leave the dye on from 2 to 3 hours for better to best results.
  • Do not apply oil on your hair until after 24 hours or the next day.
  • Use 100 gms for short, or curly hair.
  • Use 200 gms for shoulder-length hair.
  • And use 300 gms for long hair that reaches the waist or below.

You can add 1 - 2 Eggs, Half a cup of Apple Cider Vinegar, Half a cup of Yogurt (curd), 4 to 5 tablespoons of Lemon Juice, Half a cup of Coconut or Almond Milk, 1 cup of boiled and cooled Herbal Tea or Coffee Water. Adding a mix of these ingredients along with Indigo and Henna powder will do wonders for your hair and rejuvenate your scalp.

Yes! Applying Indigo Powder by itself will give your hair a deep blue tint. It is best if you first treat your hair with Henna before using Indigo Powder. You can also use darker shades like brown, auburn, or black henna with Indigo powder.

Mix the powder in warm water which will cause the powder to activate better. Do not use boiled water.

Aging is a natural process of life. You should feel happy because with age comes wisdom. So, your grey hair is a sign of gaining experience and wisdom. Dying your grey hair is easy with natural dye powders.

First, treat your hair with Henna Powder, keep it on, then apply Indigo Powder after 1 hour, and leave it on for about 2 hours. It is preferred that you do this on a weekend, as you catch up with work at home, or watch your favorite TV shows.

In a mixing bowl, soak the Henna Powder (100 gms for short hair, 200 gms for shoulder-length hair, 300 gms for long hair) with regular or warm water, Herbal Tea Water or Coffee Water overnight. (Adding coffee dissolved water makes the red color of henna more visible.) Add three to four tablespoons of Lemon Juice, as the acidic properties of lemon juice will act as an astringent to cleanse your scalp. Add Yogurt and one Egg for conditioning your hair. Soak it overnight. Then apply the paste to your hair for 1 hour.

Next, mix the Indigo Powder (100 gms for short hair, 200 gms for shoulder-length hair, 300 gms for long hair) in warm water to prepare a paste. If you are using your hands, then apply the powder to your hair strands using gloves, provided by us. Or use a short silicon spatula. Leave it on for 120 minutes (2 hours) depending on how dark you want the hair color. It’s advisable to keep the paste on your hair for up to 2 hours to get a rich black color. Repeating the procedure in a few weeks will help get your hair stained darker.

After 3 hours, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water. Do not use shampoo to wash your hair as this will cause your hair to lose moisture, making it brittle and dry.

Always, find natural ways to organically dye your hair. Use natural hair dyes. Our hair dye powders do not contain ammonia or PPD or other chemicals like most hair dyes do.

This natural dye should last for 3 to 4 weeks. Depending on how fast your hair growth is, you can see the base of your hair turn gray again after this period. You can partially dye your hair by applying the paste to the roots of your hair, if you don’t find time for a full application. You can wash it off after 1 hour.

  • Mix Indigo Powder with Pure Henna Powder to get black. (blue + reddish brown)
  • Mix Indigo Powder with Dark Brown Henna Powder to get a rich coffee brown.
  • Mix Indigo Powder with Jet Black Henna Powder to get a rich black.

Try different ratios of mixing them to see what is best suitable for your hair type and hair length. Do not be afraid to experiment. It would be advisable to make notes as you experiment, so you will know the right combination of natural dye powders to get the best natural look you can get.

Indigo powder can help prevent dandruff related scalp infections. It can be applied as regular scalp massages which can help nourish your scalp and keep flaking to a minimum.

There are no side effects of using these natural powders. But if you have a history of having extremely sensitive skin, you can test the dye on a small patch of your skin or scalp to see if you have any reaction before applying it on your full hair and scalp. Waiting for 10 minutes after doing a patch test is ideal to know if your skin is sensitive or not.

You can keep the remaining unused powder in the packet and lock it in an air-tight container. Store it in a dark and cool place, away from sunlight or heat sources.

Indigo Powder usually works its magic in the first 20 to 30 minutes. So it will start staining your hair and finish doing its job in that time. Keeping the dye for 3 hours is to allow your hair and hair roots to absorb the stain longer. There are no additional benefits of keeping the hair covered in Indigo paste overnight. After 3 hours, it is recommended that you wash your hair with cool to warm water, without shampoo.
